The candidate for this test is someone who cares for those with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Candidates may be family members, or those who work in the home, at an adult daycare center, or in assisted living or nursing homes. They may or may not have a high school degree. They may or may not be a Certified Nurse Aide.
The Alzheimer Caregiver Guide is a great educational tool to use for training caregivers in Alzheimer and dementia care. The Guide is a self-paced online resource to use for direct care staff as a stand-alone training program or in conjunction with in-person training. There are 8 modules with a practice quiz at the end of the Guide. The Guide follows the NCBAC CAC Content Guideline and Test Plan.
